“Datacide LEGAL TROUBLE

We recently got some unwelcome post from a law firm on behalf of a large media outlet, alleging copyright infringement of three images used on the datacide website.

Datacide had used the images in good faith believing they were in the public domain (one I used taking it from an alternative media site, two were given to us by the author of an article).

Unfortunately however the claims turned out to be founded and we saw no alternative to paying the demanded amount.

The demand took into account that we are a very small media organisation, but being in a constantly precarious situation it obviously hit us hard and somewhat pulled the rug from under being able to get the latest issue of datacide published in time.
